We have been photographing weddings at The Pines at Genesee since 2012, and are so proud to be one of the photographers and the videographer in their venue packages. I could go on an on about all of the reasons I love working with the team there, but it’s the couple’s who’s love stories we get to capture at The Pines that really has my heart.
Meet Jeana and Kyle: These two met in college in the freshmen dorms. They had one of those instant sparks, and have pretty much been together ever since. In fact, by the time they were married, they had been together for 9 years and felt so ready to be officially married and starting their lives together.
Kyle proposed to Jeana in January 2019 by asking her to take a break from homework she was doing for her master’s degree, persuading her to come walk the dogs on a special hike and to go to a brewery afterward. They went for a short car ride to a walking trail by Poudre River, and immediately got suspicious when she wanted to go right on the trail and he insisted they go left. Once they hit an opening by the river, she went to the water’s edge to look out, and when she turned back around Kyle was down on one knee. Overwhelmed with excitement, she got tied up in the dog’s leash as she said yes, and the whole thing was captured by one of their good friend’s who was hiding in a tree taking photos. All of their friend’s were waiting there for them at the end of the trail to celebrate their news with champagne.
Getting to the wedding day took a lot to go through- though they fell in love with The Aspen Terrace at The Pines at Genesee right away on their venue search in March of 2019, they set the date for May 2020- plenty of time for family to come out and join them! Unfortunately Covid changed those plans, so they pushed it back hoping some restrictions would lift, and then ultimately pushed it a 3rd time to September 2020 and just choosing to go for it! It worked out beautifully for them because they ended up having the same wedding anniversary date as Kyle’s Grandparents and fell like everything fell into place perfectly.
As you’ll see here they absolutely had a stunning fall day, and their colors of blushes, nudes, navy, and touches of burgundy all came together to compliment the natural Fall colors around them.
They were married under the twinkle lights of the Aspen Terrace, and shared a first look in the forest area of the Evergreens at The Pines. You can see throughout their day all of the special touches they put in to making it a fun and celebratory day but with intimate and special moments throughout.
